An aquired taste

Posted by Colin Wilson on 13th October 2016

Bitter melon is an aquired taste, and is exactly what it says… Bitter. But like anything that is good for you, it doesn’t taste nice, but you get used to it when you realise how much good it is doing for you. It keeps my blood sugar under control without me resorting to medication. That’s why I like it and will continue to use it.

acquired taste

I am a type 2 diabetic and was recommended this tea by a friend. Very very bitter but you do get acclimatised to the taste and it does seem to help lower my blood sugar count

Too bitter

The best herbal tea in the world

Posted by Gill on 19th November 2013

I love this bitter tea. Some say it is acquired taste but once acquired there is nothing to beat it. I have bought it direct from Dalgety for a number of years now as I cannot find any outlets that stock it.

A healing tea

Posted by Jayne on 16th August 2013

I bought this tea because I was told of it’s healing properties. It is also called bitter melon and it is bitter so it does take some getting use to but I was able to get use it and after a while quite liked it, as does my cousin who asked me to order some for her. I am mainly drinking it though for it’s health benefits. I heard it is good to help balance blood sugar.

Takes a little getting used to...

Posted by on 20th May 2013

I’ve been drinking this as my breakfast cup for about a year now. Yes, it is bitter but once you get used to it it’s actually not that different from other herbal teas. I used to get quite a few headaches but I haven’t had one (well, maybe one) since I started drinking it regularly. Maybe a coincidence, I dunno, but there you have my main recommendation for buying a box!

Great herbal tea

This herb is also known as bitter melon and is widely used in Asian as well as Caribbean countries. Its extremely bitter in taste but I actually find it quite refreshing.
I suffer from dizzy spells caused by low blood sugar but it seems to help regular my blood sugar level and I have had hardly any dizzy spells lately. Happy Days!
